Smule Magic Piano - Fun and FREE to start. Not really a theory or composition app but just satisfying in terms of melody and rhythm.
ABC Music - Fantastic A - Z Instrument identifier map for little kids. Complete in English and Espanol! Click a Letter and learn about all the instruments that start with that letter! Wonderful for little ones.
HearItNoteIt IQ - Ear training for the young musician. An excellent resource for young ones needing to practice early ear training exercises.
Drum Beats- It's just that! Tons of Different drumbeats with custom BPM. Useful for the practicing musician who needs a drumbeat to accompany their instrument in the absence of a live drummer. Over 50 included!

Soundythingie - WILD app! This is a music drawing app with extensive features. This app is its own instrument unlike any other. Worth every penny.
Mynotegames - From the creator of HearIt NoteIt comes an EXPLOSIVE app containing tons of games to help with music theory. One of my favorite developers for the Elementary music classroom.
Steinway Etude - Neat little player piano app that can also show you the sheet music for a song while it's playing and even highlights the measure or notes currently playing! Excellent resource for the budding piano student who wants to see and hear how harder music is played.

~ Android Based Apps ~
IMPORTANT! For Android based apps to work on other computers, you must install the Bluestacks emulator first! Bluestacks is a wonderful emulator that allows for the use of Android
Apps on Windows and Mac! Don't forget to install Bluestacks Cloud Connect on your Android Smartphone to "push" the apps to your computer. Follow the instructions!
Bluestacks - BlueStacks App Player lets you run apps from your phone fast and fullscreen on Windows and Mac. Basically, this emulator will let you sync Apps from your Android Phone and allows you to "run" them on a PC or Mac rather easily. Reeeaally handy. It's in Beta so it's not perfect but at least its a way to run Android on a computer. You can even connect and use standard USB PC gaming controllers from Logitech etc for ultimate control.
Super Draw Music - Fun and simple game. You can draw 4 lines each with their own sound. Colorful and engaging for all ages.
Score Master Lite - Note identification game. Pretty simple and easy to learn.
