The Easton school district takes great pride in knowing that students are given extensive opportunities throughout their school career to utilize computers and technology. A comprehensive technology curriculum was written in the spring of 2007 for grades K-12. This curriculum is integrated into the regular K-12 curriculum so that the students can learn how to use technology as a tool for learning.

About the Department

The technology department is comprised of myself, Brad Kistner, as the sole technology employee. It's possible for me to run the network by myself partly because of help from our excellent media staff. The main factor is the constant push towards high efficiency.

When I came to this district in 2004 as a contractor the technology was in shambles. Computers were more of a hinderance to learning than a help. Because everyting needed an overhaul it allowed for a complete redesign of all facets of technology from deployment to end use. Automating the IT process is the name of the game. Our systems are very stable because everything is locked down and very few tasks are accomplished manually. The systems are locked down but are not so much that tasks cannot be completed easily.
