Easton Schools Awarded Standard of Excellence
All schools meet Adequate Yearly Progress

Easton Unified School District#449 schools were awarded a total of eight Standards of Excellence by the Kansas Department of Education. Salt Creek Valley was awarded the Standard of Excellence in reading for fourth and fifth grade and performance as a building. In math, Salt Creek Valley received the Standard of Excellence in math for fourth grade math and overall building performance in math. Pleasant Ridge High School was awarded the Building Standard of Excellence in reading and eleventh grade reading. Pleasant Ridge Middle School was awarded the standard of excellence in reading and seventh grade reading.
All district met Adequate Yearly Progress or "AYP", a requirement of federal law No Child Left Behind. To meet "AYP" every student group must meet or exceed the annual targets reading and math. participation rate in state assessments must be 90% or increase from the previous year. Attendance rate must be 90% or increase from previous year and the graduation rate must be 75% or increase from previous year. Easton schools exceeded all of the standards.
