School Improvement Plans

Board approves school plans

September 12, 2008

The Kansas State Board of Education, through Quality Performance Accreditation (QPA), requires that each school develop a school improvement plan based on a self-review of the school's systems.  School improvement is a continuous process districts and school use to ensure all students are achieving at high levels.  Kansas Assessments and the Measure of Academic Progress are tools used by our schools to measure student achievement and provide a significant amount of information used by our teachers and administrators to improve teaching and learning.

During the September 10th board meeting Mrs. Nancy Wilson, USD #449 testing coordinator, reviewed the results of the 2007-2008 student achievement results with board members.  Results for each grade level and building were looked at and discussed in regard to how well our schools and district are doing to achieve Adequately Yearly Progress (AYP) goals established by the Kansas State Board of Education and academic growth targets contained in the school improvement plan.  Results for the 2008 Kansas Assessments and MAP tests will be posted on this web page when the results are made official by the Kansas Department of Education in October.

During the same meeting, the board approved the 2008-2009 school improvement plans that list the academic or student achievement goals for each school in the district.  To view the schools 2008-2009 school improvement plan, click on the following link for each school.
