After graduating from Lansing High School, I received my teaching degree in 2001 from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I got my first teaching job in Leavenworth at Anthony Elementary where I taught three years. While teaching at Anthony, I also went back to school and in 2004 I obtained a Masters of Arts in Teaching from the University of Saint Mary's, Leavenworth. I taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades while there. After three years in Leavenworth I got a job in McLouth teaching 2nd grade. Once taking the high school volleyball coaching position, I began teaching the 6th grade. Later I decided that I would pursue my photography business full time, but within months I was back in the classroom substituting. I subbed in the Easton school district for 6 years. I am very excited to be back in the classroom for a second year and even more pleased that it is at Pleasant Ridge Middle School teaching 6th Grade.
