Andrea Coppinger's Profile

All About Mrs. Coppinger

I am so excited to be teaching at Pleasant Ridge Middle School again this year!  This is my 14th year of teaching overall, and my sixth year at USD 449.  I am so excited for my second year of teaching math to enthusiastic and energetic seventh and eighth graders!

My husband and I live in the country and have two children, a nine-year-old daughter and a seven-year-old son.  We spend our weekends raising crops and cattle, four-wheeling across the country-side, fishing at our pond, actively participating in 4-H, and making memories with our family.  We are busy, but we have fun!

I graduated high school from Midway-Denton in 2002.  Midway-Denton has since consolidated with Highland and is now called Doniphan West.  I went on to attend Benedictine College in Atchison, KS where I received my B.A. in Elementary Education.  I am licensed to teach students in grades K-6, and I am also licensed to teach middle school math students in grades 5-8.  In 2009, I received my M.A. of Education from Baker University, nine days before my daughter was born! I also have a Master’s Degree in Administration from Benedictine College. I really enjoy learning!

After graduating from Benedictine, I began my first teaching position at MacArthur Elementary in Fort Leavenworth, KS.  I enjoyed five years teaching second graders before moving to fifth grade for seven exciting years.  This is my second year teaching math and aboslutely love the wonderful world of middle school!  Over my past thirteen teaching years,  I have served on numerous committees and councils, volunteered for after-school programs, and led curriculum-based and technology-based projects.

I look forward to a wonderful, fun-filled year in 7th and 8th grade math at Pleasant Ridge Middle School!
