Physical Education Gym Procedures

2020 - 2021

• When students enter the gym they should have already washed or sanitized their hands.

• When students enter the gym they will walk to their assigned home spot, a 6 x 6 square with their student number in the middle.

• When all students are in their home spot we will do three exercises and one low impact cardio exercise together to warm together

• After the warm up we will discuss the “Why” of the lesson today then do an instant activity or start the main activity of the day

• At the end of class students will go back to their home spot to finish class with a cool down, possibly a video, yoga pose, an assessment before leaving

• Before leaving students will need to use hand sanitizer

• Between classes any equipment that was used will need to be disinfected by me.

• Restroom: There will be a designated area for students to stand if they need to use the restroom during class. I will give them a thumbs up to let them go. Only one student at a time will leave to use the restroom.  If it is an emergency they should leave the room and use the restroom.

• Students must always wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before coming back to the gym after using the restroom

• It is important that students maintain social distancing during class. Home spots are six feet away from each other. 

• It also important for me to maintain my social distance during class.

• We will do as many activities without using equipment, but it is important that students do not share equipment they use during class.

• We will have a designated water station for their water bottles if necessary.

• We will not be using the water fountains during class or at the end of class.
