Policies and Procedures

Below you will find a ton of information about the school year and as always we will continue to update you on school policies, important events and activities coming up the first part of the school year.

  • Safety and Security: Our number one priority each and every day is that students, staff, and visitors are safe at school. We will continue to use our existing procedures, and we will continuously review and modify as necessary any of our procedures, protocols, and practices to ensure that we maximize school safety and security. This summer we had additional cameras installed at PRMS in order to provide more coverage of the building. Only approved visitors will be allowed to enter the building. Please call the front office in order to make an appointment to enter the building. In addition, Officer Green will be returning to the District as the School Resource officer (SRO).

  • Communication with Families: We enjoy sharing our successes with families, and we want to hear from you as well regarding your thoughts about successes and challenges. As principal, I will continue to send my weekly Friday Smore newsletter, to hopefully keep everyone updated on what is happening here at PRMS. In addition, our teachers, coaches and sponsors will be streamlining communication through the use of the Remind app. I highly encourage you to download the Remind app if you don't already have it on your mobile device.

  • Social and Emotional Supports: We know that establishing and continuing to strengthen our trusting relationships with students and families is a critical and foundational step to helping our students learn. We will continue to be mindful of and act upon the social and emotional needs of students, staff, and families. Mrs. Nichols, the district Social Worker is a tremendous resource for our students and families.

  • Attendance and Engagement: We will continue to be committed to working closely with students and families, and we want our schools to continue to be places where students and staff have fun, thrive, and look forward to learning each day. If for any reason your student will be absent, please make sure to call them in to the front office at 913-651-5522 or email the administrative assistants, Mrs. Swinford @ lswinford@easton449.org, Ms. Sinclair at ssinclair@easton449.org or me at lsiebenmorgen@easton449.org. In addition, please know that a students attendance, including tardies, may affect their eligibility to participate in sports or club activities.

  • Technology: All students will be issued a Chromebook that they will carry with them throughout the day. Each student will have a designated teacher where they can house and charge their Chromebooks. We encourage students to treat the Chromebooks as their own property and we ask them properly take care of them. Student are able to sign out their chromebook to take home if needed.
